Garden Gate Cottage Corner first post.
I hope you will enjoy and participate in the journey with me.

A Walk and Talk is a unique and exhilarating experience. It makes conversations find buoyancy. Conversations about life become livelier and more fun when shared with others while walking. The natural surroundings, fresh air, and oxygen can make the experience almost euphoric, especially when walking in nature-filled areas. Cityscapes and villages are stimulating as well. Every step you take has the potential to ignite a spark of joy. Whether it's a smile exchanged with a passing stranger or stumbling upon a hidden gem of a small business, the magic of walking has the potential to make you smile.
As someone who often walks alone, I have come to appreciate the power of solitary reflection as well. Walking alone provides me with the freedom to go for a walk off schedule, but it also allows me to engage in introspective conversations. When I walk alone, The Transformative Power of a Walk and Talk is with my own awareness and thought.
I have the benefit of several parks and a vibrant growing village area within a 2-mile radius. I am provided with a diverse range of experiences as I walk. There are residential areas replete with sidewalks, trees, and gardens where it is easy to walk as a meditation, reflecting on different aspects of life, or simply appreciating the sights and sounds around me.
My personal health and fitness goal is to walk 10,000 steps per day. There are many ways to accomplish this goal. I can run errands, shop at a large mall or warehouse store, chase after grandchildren, garden or do household chores and errands. The Walk and Talk, by myself or with a friend is my favorite way to accomplish my step goal. A Walk and Talk with a colleague can even improve my business discussions and accomplish my step goal all in one activity!
I'm still learning not to let the weather dampen my spirits for my walks. I gear up and embrace the elements and try to enjoy the briskness of the day or go super early in the morning to beat the heat of the day. I encourage you to join me in this delightful activity of a Walk and Talk.
Whether you're strolling through the park, pounding the pavement, or exploring new trails, I’d love to know about your walking journeys and insights! It will be fun to learn where you go, how you motivate yourself, and what benefits you have gained from your walks. If you have a dog (unlike me), I’d love to hear how it changes or enhances your Walk-n-Talk experience.
While writing this post I found a good book to recommend. Let me know if you like it.
